The 10 laws of "Where are you right now?"

  • Law 1: A set of circumstances

At the beginning of this journey, you were given a complete set of circumstances. Loving or hating your current set is irrelevant as they are yours. Periodically, these circumstances will be changed, sometimes single circumstances and occasionally your entire set. These changes may occur at any time and without prior notification.

  • Law 2: You will learn lessons

You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called “Life”. Each day in this school you will have the opportunity to learn lessons. You may like the lessons or think them irrelevant and stupid.

  • Law 3: There are no mistakes only lessons.

Growth is a process of trial and error: Experimentation. The “failed” experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiment that ultimately “works”.

  • Law 4: A lesson is repeated until learned.

A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can then go on to the next lesson.

  • Law 5: “Learning lessons” does not end.

There is no part of life that does not contain its lessons. If you are alive (If you are reading this now I will make that assumption), there are lessons to be learned.

  • Law 6: “There” is no better than “here”.

No matter how much “there” looks better than “here”, When your “there” has become a “here”, you will simply notice another “there” over there which looks to be much better than the “here” which used to be a “there”. Please note: The only real difference between “there” and “here” is the letter T. Enjoy the journey.

  • Law 7: At the end of the day….

At the end of the day in the big scheme of life, how important (really important) are all the little things that take up so much of your focus and stop you from truly enjoying yourself, developing yourself, recognising opportunities and making a contribution.

  • Law 8: The tools.

You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.

  • Law 9: The answer.

The answers to all of Life’s questions lie within your capabilities to obtain. All you need to do is look, listen, learn, feel and trust.

  • Law 10: Reality.

The reality is that you have already forgotten at least 4 of the preceding 9 laws. Repetition and practise will expand your comfort zone.
